Watchdog head says Google yet to pay 700,000 rbl fine

VLADIVOSTOK, Sep 3 (PRIME) -- Google has not paid a 700,000 ruble fine imposed by the Russian communications service yet, the authority’s head Alexander Zharov told reporters on Tuesday.

“The payment period expires on September 30. I think the company, as any other, will pay it at the very last moment,” Zharov said.

The watchdog punished the U.S. company for selective screening of search results as more than a third of links from the single register of banned information are displayed.

Zharov said Google has not improved filtration. “Everything flows in the same parameters: some 70% of websites from the register of banned information are deleted,” he said.
